This link will explain it all:

To my complete complete dismay, the Honda S2000 is on the Lemon List!!

What in the world?!?

I don't recall anyone ever posting about this, but I'm sure that there is going to be some curiosity peaked here by other owners as well!

This is what the Lemon Law List is compiled from:

Thanks to the efforts of the Center for Auto Safety, we are able to provide you with the vehicle complaints on file with the National Highway for Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Each year, thousands of Americans call their government to register complaints about their vehicles. The federal government collects this information but has never released it to the general public. The complaint index is based on a ratio of the number of complaints for each vehicle to the sales of that vehicle.

Simple. Fishing for contingency fees.

Three exclamation points in the banner alone. There ought to be a law.

considering thatthe website is a law firm that would love to handle cases against auto manufacteres w/ deep pockets...

statistics can be carefullly selected and reported in order to achieve a given message. i think this fimr wants people most likely to file law suits to feel more justified in doing so.

since most folks with no complaints are typically quiet, and the typical auto enthusiats who buys this car is more likely to compalin about anything not within expectations, i dont think such numbers are not unusual.

I can tell you that the Lemon Law in PA has successfully protected a lot of consumers from corporate fleecing.

My only complaint about the Lemon List is it doesn't report the severity of the complaints. Are we just talking about a window not rolling down correctly, or the famous "rear end problem" where people wrap the S around polls because of poor handling in light mist/rain?

Never-the-less embarrassing.

And oddly enough, how the hell is the Audi TT Roadster not on that list. I'm sure we all know about the horror of that car.

Sad to see.

I can agree with the Passport. The one I had in '99 was a full lemon. What a POS it was! But Honda bought it back from me and gave me all the money I paid towards an Accord EX-VL Coupe. The best car ever!

Are you talking of it's propensity to fly off the road?

The Lemon Laws that exist apply to cars that require multiple repairs for the same problem, but are basically unfixable. The Laws require buyback for these problem cars. Haven't heard much from any members about cars that can't be fixed, but those would be the lemons.
Now, the "famous rear-end problem" is great material for the lawyers. Any car that anyone makes that, according to the lawyer, is uncontrollable in certain situations (like turning and accelerating) is a car they can sue over.
Total BS. Ambulance chasing.
BTW, note the Focus (aka, Ford Thermite Grenade) is missing. phhht!

Wait, are you saying the S2000 had handling issues, or the TT?

As for the list, its BS, the Toyota Tundra has been one of the top ranked full size pickups. These guys are just money chasers, and by the looks of their news releases on the right side of the screen, they haven't had a big success in a while :-)

I don't agree that the S2000 should be on a Lemon List, but I do agree about the handling issues for the 00 and 01 models.
