Unhappy Ebay Exhaust Review

Ok this is a review for the Duel Exhaust off of eBay that I recently purchased.

SellerID: 4caroption
Item: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=360257594228

Bought: Sunday, May 9
Shipped: Monday, May 10
Delivered: Monday, May 17

HOW IT ARRIVED:

Thoughts: Header was packaged good. Exhaust coulda been packaged alittle better. Packing peanuts to fill up the empty spaces. More padding around the part sticking out of box so it wouldnt have poked through.

Overall: Good (box damage most likely UPS fault)

Taking it to parents for install. (should be installing it Thursday or Saturday/Sunday)

Concerned that the angle of the pipes shown are going to make fitment a nightmare. Could be me over exaggerating and its supposed to be this way to make it fit. Will have to wait till i get it installed to find out.

Dent located on the top of the exhaust. May have happened during delivery, donno.

1 Dent located on each of the exhausts

Supposed to be 2.5" Im not sure if they round up or what (not mechanically inclined) but it looks to be 2.25"

Here are some pics of the welds on the hangers. Im worried about these breaking. May run this by a weld shop to get touched up before i put it on so they dont break while im driving. Opinions on whether they will break?

Just noticed i didnt take a pic of just the full exhaust. Will do so tomorrow.

First Impressions:

- Main Exhaust could have been packaged better
- Hanger Welds could have been welded better
- Looks Great
- Decent Shipping Time ( Id say 1 week is normal for ebay)
- Great Price for what it is

So Far: GOOD BUY

Could change come install time!
Will update with more pics and video once installed!

Wish me luck!

ok, as of right now. its almost where it needs to be but ive run out of time for today.

As for the sound....

...I think it almost sounds identical to stock. Maybe a tad louder.
I think im gonna have to get a high flow cat to get the sound i want.
Havent installed the headers, that may make a difference i dont know.

Weighed the stock exhaust: 50lbs
Ebay Exhaust: 35lbs

So i saved 15lbs!

ok, on my way home i have to say it sound louder than stock by alot.
But not the LOUD/RICEY that i was expecting.
There is some drone but nothing unbearable.

I would take it to an exhaust shop and have them fix the hangers for sure! You should do a before/after dyno to see if you gain anything at all.

FYI. There is a reason this eBay seller has a 98% feedback record. I hope I am wrong but I think you will find out why during install and operation.

Doesnt look as bad as I thought it would look. Also the pipes are suppost to be angled like that. Thats how my ebay one was, just my hangers were screwed up. Yours look like they would fit better, I never broke a weld either. Also im glad you measured the piping. Told ya it wasnt 2.5". Thats how mine was as well. I probably would have kept mine if it had didnt have the horrible drone on the highway. Good luck man!

I've learned my lesson with cheap and ebay junk and will never buy again. $200 for an exhaust and header is going to be crap for quality.

I bought a Tsudo exhaust off of ebay for my Prelude. It was advertised as 2.5" but ended up being 2.25", like yours.

Definitely get the hangers welded up, they look like tack welds (quick, initial welds to hold pieces in place before final weld). There is a good chance they wont hold up to bumps and rattle from daily driving in their current state.

If you know anyone with a mig welder it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to strengthen those joints.
