Default 2001 GPW S2000

Name: John Walker
Location: Tennessee
Means of Contact: email - jpweraser@comcast.net
Description: 2001 S2000, GPW on Red/Black, lots of mods
Price: $21,000 OBO, car is sold AS IS – NO WARRANTY expressed or written. Clean title in hand, ready to go to its new home.

Up for sale is my 2001 S2000. It is GPW and the paint is all original except for the added body parts (lip, skirts, and rear spats). I would rate the exterior at a 8/10 as the car has normal dings and rock chips on the front end. The interior is a fairly rare combination for GPW that came with red seats and a black dash. I would rate the interior a 7.5/10 due to the fact that the carpet and floor mats are a bit faded and have heel wear marks on the driver's side. The door panels, seats, dash, and center console are like new. I hate to let this car go but I will be getting married and buying a house soon so my lifestyle will be changing big time. I have owned this car since February of 2009 and have really enjoyed it thoroughly. I have made many changes and improvements during my stint of ownership including swapping from Greddy E-Manage to AEM EMSv2 with a tune by Jeff Evans. The car made 340whp and 200wtq on 93 pump gas. I just put a brand new set of tires on the car 2 weeks ago so those are in pristine condition with barely 200 miles on them. The chassis has 121k miles on it and the motor is from a 2003 AP1 and has 55k miles on it. The car rides great, has a great alignment on it and has been a true joy to own.

Here is the dyno graph from my tune in September of 2009.

Why was the motor replaced and do you have documentation? Send those pictures when you get a chance. Thanks!

Working on the pictures momentarily. Got held late at work last night. The motor was replaced because the motor that was in it had a ring failure in cylinder number 2. I replaced the motor myself so I really don't have anything other than the shipping manifest from the place I bought the motor from which is a vendor on here. Emailing you in a little bit with the pictures you requested.

Nope. I had to put another motor in it. The tune on the car when I bought it wasn't all that great, it was too lean up top. Also, the CEL that the car had when I bought it was not related to anything O2 sensor, it was actually a bad barometric unit inside the ECM which requires a whole new ECM to fix. So, the Emanage was just dumping extra fuel and the ECM wasn't correcting for the difference in elevation from TX to TN. The car smoked when I bought it and it finally just let go. I've put about 3-4k on the car since I put the motor in it so everything is fine with the new AEM and Jeff Evans tune.

Wow.. when the car was sold to you.. the car never smoked one bit. Up top it wasnt lean according to the maps in place with the emanage. In reality, it was actually running a little rich up top. No one said the CEL was related to the O2 sensor. You dont really make sense when you say "too lean" and later on say "dumping extra fuel". I can see the elevation part but I would think that would get taken a look at sooner before the the motor failed on you.

The car was in no way giving out nor smoking when you got it. So did the motor give out after you installed AEM or before?
