The Xcarlink allows you to connect your iPod or MP3 player directly to the CD changer port of your OEM head unit, it also allows you to control your ipod through your stereo and dashboard controls as well as charging it when plugged in.

Does it support the newer 3G/3GS iphones without use of a 12->5v adapter?

 

Looking at the website it appears to but I only used it for my iPods so can't really say for definate.....anyone?
