This drive combines our very popular Mt. St. Helens - Windy Ridge drive with a new feature – Mt. Rainier. This is a fun and exciting drive with plenty of winding roads and great scenery along the way. Following lunch at Mt. Rainier we will loop back to I-5 and return to Portland.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11 – 6-1/2 Driving Hours & 342Miles


We will make our departure from Vancouver and head up through Amboy






We will make a stop at Yale Lake for a photo shoot.




Then it is on through Cougar and around the back side of Mt. St. Helens.




We will travel through the “Ghost Forest”.








Then up through some great twisties to the lookout above Spirit Lake.






Finally we end up at the Windy Ridge Observatory at the base of the crater.








Leaving here, we continue north through Randle.




And on up to the Paradise Lodge on the southern flank of Mt. Rainier.










We will have lunch here and enjoy the scenic beauty.










Then it’s back into the cars as we head down the mountain and to Morton.






We hit I-5 and return to Portland.
