Default 225/40 & 255/40 on eom 17s?

Ok so I'm still waiting for stock of bronze rota fighter 10s to land in the UK. In the meantime my mot is due and all my tyres are far from legal. I was going to order the rotas with 225/40R17 and 255/40R17s but it looks like I'm going to have to get some new tyres for my oems first. The killer question is will the above sizes fit on eoms so I can transfer them over to the rotas when I finally get them?

They will fit on the wheels but not correctly. You will lower the front tires by 1/2" and may mess up the anti lock brakes.

I run 225/45/17 on the front and 255/40/17 on the rear - no problems.
