Default Karting @ Summit Point

UPDATE:
We are confirmed for a Mini GP Tomorrow. Please be there NO LATER THAN 4:30 PM to complete registration and the safety briefing.

YOU MUST WEAR CLOSE TOED SHOES. SPK will provide us with a race suit, and other safety gear, but if you have your own helmet I'd advise that you bring your own. We can wear short/ and t's as they will provide a race suit. We may be able to run in shorts and t's depending on the weather, but if you opt not to wear a race suit, you may bring long pants and a long sleeved shirt to substitute.

For those that want to do a practice run first, it may be more cost effective to purchase a membership of $40, reducing your $75 GP price to $60. The cost of your arrive and drive would be $20-25 with the $75 so it's comparable. Members of Allsports that come out and purchase a membership get an additional credit as well.

See you all there by 4:30!
.

Summit Point Karting has opened on the Washington Circuit in Summit Point, WV. I know for many of you this is a hike, but I think it will be well worth it. The only other really decent karting place is Allsports GP in Sterling. For the same/similar cost, Allsports has a shorter track, less turns, and less HP in their karts.

Summit Points Karts can run upwards of 50+ mph and has a wider track for passing.

When: Saturday, June 26, 2010 starting at 4pm.

Cost: $75 per person (non-members)/ $60 (member).

What: At the minimum we will run a Grand Prix 3 - consisting of a practice, qualifying, and race session (11 min per session).

Summit Point will also provide us with race suits, gloves, and helmet. You may bring your own if you prefer. For those that cannot fit in the suits, long pants and sleeves are required.

Bring your friends! The more people we have show, we can either get a better price, or more track time for the same $$. If we have enough people, we might be able to just take over the track entirely.

I like Karts:

Leadfootgirl (Alison) +3
Highlift (Ross) +3
e3opian (Aaron)
Danzilla (Dan)

Maybe:

Gfacter (George)
GearJDM
Tacocat (Zeke)
TepEvan (Evan)
Goldenfri (Jim)

You are too kind.

I think I get karting credits for instructing at BSR. Put me down as a maybe, I am likely going to Hyperfest the week before.

IN!

For people who haven't been to SPK, I've been Allsports, American Indoor Karting, NJMP Karting and I still say SPK has the best course and fastest karts.
