Default Stupid effing dealers (rant, if it's not obvious)

Just got off the phone with my Honda dealer. I was asking what was taking so long on getting my plugs in for the "product update". They said they have been in for two weeks - "didn't Bill call you"? No.

I just so happened to hit 12,000 KM's so I booked my 12,000 KM service. I didn't have my manual with me so I asked what services were performed. "Oil and filter change (don't need it, just changed to synthetic), tire pressure checked (yeah, can't do that myself) and various other simple items, although to be fair, I wouldn't know what to look for when checking CV boots/joints.
One of the items she listed was "tire rotation"(!?!). I then asked her if she was reading off a list for all Hondas or the S2000 in particular. She said of course it was a list for the S2000.

I think I'm just going to pick up the plugs and go to another dealer. Clowns.

I think we all should test our local Honda dealers for competence.

1. Could you please rotate my tires.

2. Could you please check my power steering fluid level.

3. Could you please run my vehicle thru your car wash.

Lets see how many more examples can be added to this list.

By the way if any dealer does the above work run like hell.

By the number of dealer rants we see on the site, I don't think this is that uncommon. There is a dealer rating utility in the works for our site. When this comes online, everyone with experiences like this must enter their comments and rating. Just one more reason to support this site by becoming a member. Hint, hint.

Woodson, I have felt your pain! That's why I avoid the dealership service bay like the plague. If they'll give you the plugs, my offer is still open. I can even pound that little "dot" over the 1 on your firewall as part of the spark plug recall. Needless to say, VTEXTC didn't touch his firewall. I'll even rotate your tires if you want me to.
Also, I can check your CV joints for you and "condition" them too.
But I'll understand if you go to another dealer so as to get the proper documentation.

I used to live in Calgary. Lovely city. Moved back for a woman. Now I'm single...

Hmmm...

I was recently asked if I wanted an Acura dealer job here though(They're looking for someone to train as an NSX guy.)

Dont forget to add to the list for them to check your A/T transmission fluid I live in NY and so far my dealer has been great, the people that work there are nice all the time and know everything about my car, when I brought my car in for the recall service they even cleared up my plastic rear windshield for me so I could see better.

Well, a humble beginning is right here.

"My" dealer lost me when we started arguing about the spark plugs update and whether it was really necessary or not. "Oh," he says, "I've had 100s of those cars through here and there never was a problem."

100s of S2000s at this dinky little dealership? Methinks not.
