Any pics of the work in progress? I assume you are having a fold out screen.

Interested in doing this myself. Did you remove the dashboard at all, or did you just cut into it in-situ?

thanks. it is the same color as the lcd. I started installing the lcd today but got a hairline crack in the mount. maybe it'll be in tomorrow. thanks for the info that I pm'd you about awhile back, I finally got the guts to go through with it.

a word of advice to anyone that wants to try this, measure 10 times cut once.

it is a carboard frame covered with about 3 layers of fiberglass then bondo to fill in the holes. about a gazillion layers of paint and then clearcoated. i just got finished putting the din in a minute ago with epoxy.

I got the kenwood-kvt-m700 (7" touch screen), also if it ever arrives in the mail i will have a z910 dvd player by kenwood as well.

Oh, dear. Think that may rule it out for me. Looking in the S2k Workshop Manual, there are warnings everywhere about not tampering with the air-bags. Having had one go off when I thumped the steering wheel in frustration after an argument with a girl-friend. Fortunately, the car was parked, but it still scared the sh*t out of me.
Edit: Sorry, I should have explained, that Vauxhall (GM) later discovered that a dickhead had wrongly spliced wires together when replacing wiring after a wiring harness caught fire. Apparently the air-bag system was then live and could have fired off at any time.
