Default Upgrade alarm or get Lo Jack?

The dealer installed an alarm when I bought the car but these days with seats getting stolen, etc, I was wondering if it is better to get a better alarm with the pager and tilt options, OR, get Lo Jack. Any input? TIA

lo jack..hands down.

the techniques people use these days for breaking into cars is ridiculous...i think of alarms as a caution sign, but not everyone heeds the warning. Additionally alarms don't necessary trip if your top is slashed..you need additional features for that. There are just too many intangibles for things to still go wrong even if you have an alarm...a broken window is a broken window regardless if you have an alarm or not

at least with lo jack, if your car is stolen, there is a gps tracking your vehicle and that will definitely save you from an insurance nightmare.

not a fan of lo jack but if you do, pay extra and get early warning. also make sure your getting the newest version of lo jack installed. newest one is self powered with a battery rated to last 10 years from the day it is turned on

i prefer a system that lets me track my car when i want to as lojack wont give you that option and lo jack is only working when you report it unless you have early warning than if your car moves without the lojack key fob than lojack themselves call you to make sure you didnt move it.

also if you live in a small town where lojack is unknown to alot of people, dont get it as most police cars wont have lo jack tracking installed

unless they have changed. it is not a GPS tracker. lo jack just sends a signal out when turned on so police cars with lo jack tracking devices can track it but is limited in range

The LA area will definitely have police cars with lo jack tracking installed.
I believe lo jack will have a more profound affect for you if things go wrong than an alarm system (no matter how expensive or advanced it is)

but ultimately go with whatever will give you the best peace of mind.

Sounds good. Looks like Lo Jack is the way to go. Thanks for the input.

R3DS2K systems that let you track your car have a monthly fee right?

Better alarm with 2 way remote and lowjack early warning (if not early warning then lojack is just a waste of money IMO).
