Default Autowave Tune and PLM Header/70mm Test Pipe

Last week I got my AEM cold air intake and flashpro. I installed the intake myself and uploaded the AEMV2 calibration. The first plot run on the dyno was the intake, the AEMV2 calibration and some adjustment to the low and high fuel table I made after some data logging. Unfortunetly I did not get a dyno plot for the car stock, I was a little antsy and installed the intake and reflash. First run 219hp/147tq at the wheel.

The second plot is after the PLM header and 70mm test pipe install. 215hp/146tq

The third plot is after Mike at Autowave tuned the car on the dyno at Autowave. 226hp/152tq

The A/F ratio was off after the installation of the header/testpipe. It lost a little top end power but gained torque after vtec ingaged. After Mike adjusted the fuel it gained horsepower throughout the rpm range and a hefty amount of torque from 3300 to 5300rpms and again from 5800 to redline.

I have to say that the intake sounds awesome, I just wish I had dyno'd the car stock. The welds and fitment of the header looked good. I went with the unplated stainless steel. As for the worries of hydrolock I am keeping the stock filter and elbow along with a screwdriver in my car during the winter months.

Mike, Shane and Mark at Autowave were extremely knowledgeable and cool. I spent a fair amount of time in the shop this last week while they were ordering, installing parts and tuning my car. If you live in So Cal and want a mechanic/tuner with a lot of honda/acura experience these guys are honest and top notch.

I am looking to make a custom 3" exhaust or possibly buying the 3" one from Challenge USA. If I do so I will post the dyno on those.

The Flashpro is like $700, call Mike or Shane for a quote for the flashpro and tune. I got the header and testpipe installed plus the tune for around $500. I'll paste there info. They are pretty cool, you can also stop buy if you aren't to far from Huntington Beach.

I'll have to check out the HKS 75mm and see what power it might make and the cost.

I'm pretty sure you have to drive with total disregard to actually hydrolock with a cold air intake. In Feb. I drove up to San Francisco with my cold air intake filter literally half an inch off the ground with no splash shield protecting it. My car was so low that it was tearing up reflectors if I changed lanes over a bump. It was pouring the entire way up and around the grapevine area, the freeway was flooding and had massive puddles that would cause hydroplaning. I'm not quite sure how people pull it off...

I'm not too worried about it. I just have a gutter that I have to drive across thats pretty wide and low and during the short rainy season its 8-10" deep.
