Once again the pinnacle of motor sports, Formula One Racing, is heading back to the US heartland. And once again a group of dedicated F1 and S2000 fans are getting together in Indianapolis for a weekend of fast cars, good times and great people..

Last year a group of us got together and rented a Condo about 10 minutes away from the Speedway. We arrived on Friday, made our way over to the race track, went through the entrance and walked towards the grandstand. We were met with the sound of F1 cars leaving the pit lane for their practice session and from that point on I knew I'd be coming back again.

We'll last year was so much fun that this year we've rented two condos and want to invite some of our friends to join us for a cookout at one of the condos ( affectionately known as Cheryl's Lingerie Lounge ) following Saturday's qualifying.


When: Saturday September 28th. Late afternoon, following qualifying and other track activity.
What: S2000/F1 Fans Cookout @ Cheryl's Lingerie Lounge
Where: 7168 Eagle Cove North Drive, Indianapolis
How much: (Still TBD but rough guess of $10 per person for food )


If you're going to the race or live in the area, drop us a post here in this thread and we'll see if we can all get together.

* Last year a group of us went out to dinner on Friday. If anyone has suggestions as to a place to go for dinner on Friday in Indy or would like to meet for dinner please post here.
* Search E-bay for good tickets. Most of us who went last year bought good tix for face on E-Bay

 

For those who don't know where Stand J is, it's at the end of the straight on Turn 1, and you can see Turns 1-4, I think. Great seats! I have the ticket, so PM me if you are interested in buying. I'm selling at face value of $85.

 

Hey guys, I'm finally going to make it out there this year. We're going (and Amber too hopefully ) with my friend Stephen and his wife as we're going to stay with her extended family who live in Indianapolis.

The plan is to leave Thursday night, drive halfway, and arrive in Indy Friday mid-day.

I believe we're sitting in Section J also............or whatever section is situated at the end of the front straight.

Sounds interesting.....not sure of my exact schedule for the weekend yet, but I would love to meet other members. Wish I could bring me car, but it'll be USAir to Indy this year.
Btw, I'm in Stand J too and if I can't make the cookout maybe we could arrange a meet behind the stands. Track Dogs are on me!

 

I might not make it to the race, but I'd go for the gathering.

OK, there are two spots left at the condo. Two tickets also remain...section J is totally cool, it gives a perfect view of the twistiest part of the course and it's coming in from the longest/fastest straight on the course.
