What the heck is a type S? I got a letter from my dealer congratulating me on the purchase of my "2000 Type S" and reminding me that their service department will be happy to maintain the "Type S". Maybe they thought I bought a new video game for my Playstation? I thought that was hilarious!

Hey, that's what mine said, too. I wonder what's up with that?

Interesting...

we have a 2001 Acura CL Type S... But you're on your own with that letter you got...

I did see an S2000 at a dealership with the black chrome kit and the script on the side read...

2000 S

maybe thats what the dealer thinks your car is?

Have you ever known an entire company to be completely knowledgeable about their products? Honda isn't an exception here.

Got the same thing here last year when I bought mine. Even the model year in the letter had to be crossed out and written in with a pen. A left over Y2K bug in their form letter software maybe...

A Real simple definition: "type S" is a designation Honda has used for a while now. You can say it means "sportier model" For example "type R" is considered the "top" designator and can be considered to mean "Racing"...

Almost every one receives this "type S" letter from Honda, it was created by Honda, not your dealer. The S2000 is considered a "type S"
