got wrong pads !
ordered AXXIS ultimate pads from my supplier in US but his distributor gave him StopTech Street Performance Pads instead claiming "Axxis was bought out by StopTech who now sells the identical same pad compounds, but now with StopTech packaging and catalog #"
initially i got furious about it (i paid 50$ for intl shipping and waited 1 months to get them
).
but then reading reviews at various forums i see that they're suppose to be quite good.
the problem with net reviews is that we don't know people's point of refrence - i mean being better than chrysler or subaru stock pads is not difficult.....
i don't see any specific tech info for those pads except some general raving descriptions.
so any expirience with those on S2000?
or i'm going the first one to try them?

Your supplier misinformed you. Axxis is NOT owned by Stop Tech (I confirmed this with my friend from Stop Tech). Axxis was a good pad years ago and I used to run these in the late 70's/early 80's on my Civic and Accord (Metalmasters back then).
In my opinion, you got the better pad. I will put the Stop Tech Street Performance pads on my S2K when the OE pads require replacement. Good luck. The reviews that I have read seem to be positive when used as a street pad with light track work.

Exactly what I have heard as well. Axxis is nothing special. I hated the metal masters, but that was a long time ago. Our factory pads are better quality (Jurid).
In the early 80's, Metalmaster wer the best IMO. I bought a new 82 Accord and teh rotors warped after 3,000. Honda put on new rotors and pads and the same thing happened at 6000 miles. so, I had the rotors turned at the local auto parts store and went to an "import" auto parts store and bough the Metalmasters. Never had a problem again. That was then (28 years ago) so I have no clue how good their pads are today.
i'm performance oriented and had 2 sets of Axxis Ultimate on Miata and i loved them a lot - not expensive, great bite, strong braking, never fading.
on the down side - a bit noisy and a lot of dust - but i don't care as i'm performance oriented.
will Stoptech's will be as good?......

so how StopTech Street Performance Pads are on S2000?
after bedding and some 120 km my impression that those are avarage pads.
stopping is actually good.
they're by no means "dust free". dusting is here - but not terrible.
initial bite is very weak and doesn't inspire confidence.
on the up side - they're cheap (100$ front+rear) and come with shims.
there is also no noise whatsoever - not that this is important to me....
