Default Motorized Hide Away License Plate

just a little peek of what im doing..

http://yfrog.com/mrcustomfrontplatez

Update 10.23.10

have to pull out the front bar to drill holes

also moved the AC canister back a little and bent the AC lines to prevent rubbing issues. this was the easy part

hard part is drilling the 2 small holes under the front bar, broke 2 drill bits on this one....

and drill 4 holes under bumper.

had to trim the plate bracket a bit about half off, reason: when hidden the
bracket sticks out about 1 1/2" and that bugs me a little...once trimmed it can be pushed back more when hidden.

so far so good next step wiring this baby up.

ive been thinkin about for a long time the only bad thing is that you have to use a remote control to do it. i want to install it to the car either a button in the dash or hook it to the alarm. ex: when i arm the car it will flip up, disarm flip down. that involves a new relay and a whole lot of thinking....P.I.T.A. also you have to hold it, can't just press the button.. and some bending of the ac lines and that canister in the middle of the front grill.. has to be bent back... small details .. small.

Would buy this. I'm guessing the cost to make this is low since the parts are small and cheap.

Nice, I agree with hunterD though. I'd rather have a button inside.
I'd put it where my roof switch is supposed to be

Heck I'd even get a fake roof switch to make it look legit.

Sick! I was always thinking of making something like this. Also a license plate in the rear that rotates, a la Transporter style. Then I can run red lights all day
