S2Ki Holiday Party plus white elephant
S2Ki Holiday Party
Place: Angelo Mio
Address: 820 Santa Cruz Ave, Menlo Park
Time: 6:45PM
Date: Jan 22, 2011
Need final head count by Jan 19, 2011
We'll have a full Menu as well as a full bar
The bill will be split up by table so pick your neighbors wisely
Unless the whole table agrees, I think the alcohol should be kept seperate from
the food bill just to make it easier at the end of the night.
White elephant gift exchange required
Rules for White Elephant Gift
All gifts should have a value of $20-$25. Use your imagination to make it fun.
Participants bring their gifts wrapped or sealed in a gift bag, and often take care to hide the contents of the gift and the identity of the giver.
Gifts are placed in a designated area.
Participants draw numbers to see who goes first, second, etc.
Participants may not fall asleep or "rest their eyes" during any portion of the game.
How to Play:
The guest who has drawn #1 goes first. He/she chooses a gift from the gift pile, opens the gift for all to see, and keeps it for the time being.
The guest who has drawn #2 goes next. He/she can either choose to take an unopened gift from the gift pile or to steal a gift from any previous gift-opener.
Allow each subsequent person to either unwrap a new gift, or steal any of the gifts previously opened. If someone's gift is stolen, that person can immediately unwrap a new one or steal another gift.
Continue until someone unwraps a new gift, then proceed onto the next number. The fourth owner of a gift gets to keep it. The gift is dead after it has been stolen three times. It may not be stolen once there has been three owners. Owners of live gifts must keep them visible and hold them up when requested.
After all turns have been taken, the person who has drawn #1 has the option of taking one more turn since they had the disadvantage of not knowing what any of the now-opened presents were in the beginning. However, they may NOT take any dead gifts nor may they steal back any gift that was stolen from them. This gives them the opportunity to steal something they like better but at the same time, places SOME limits on what they can take. If there are no limits to #1 then they might as well sit back, relax, wait 'til everyone else is finished playing and then snatch whatever they want!

I'll get the G6 again I bet... wanna race?

We're both in

I tend to CC it so separate bills are always nice. I will attempt cash but I always under estimate these things. Chalk in up to years of not carrying cash.
