BP Fuels Research Center Tour (11/16/02)
It has been confirmed. BP's fuels technology group will open their facility to us on November 16. The plan is to have a short presentation about fuel grades/quality, various aspects of additive technology and what they are good for, what exactly it is that the guys do out there, etc, followed by a (hopefully) lively discussion where you can ask any questions you like (to paraphrase Woody Allen: "Everything you always wanted to know about gasoline but were afraid to ask."). Afterwards, there'll be a tour of the facilities, including their test track, the wind tunnel (hell, I am sure we can put an S2000 in there), the engine test lab, and whatever else they have out there.
Location: 150 W. Warrenville Rd., Naperville IL 60563
Date: 16 November 2002
Time: 10:00am
Please be on time. I figure the whole event should take about two hours. dietrichls has graciously offered to organize an after-event event at his house, so whoever is interested should plan for a social get-together for lunch. He'll post details later tonight (or so he said).
I do need some indication of how many people are planning to attend (for planning purposes, plus I need to give security an approximate number), so please reply here to be added to the list. The list so far:
Luder94
dietrichls
ChiS2K + 1
Stealthy_S2K + 2
RKS2K
Racezx9
Ulrich
solo2racer
FD RACER
Cooperman
NSX guy
MFG
The tour is not limited to the S2000 community, so feel free to bring this to other car enthusiasts' attention as well.
Stay tuned for further details and last-minute instructions.

Hi, Ulrich .
Thanks for organizing a tour. I always like to tour these big companies R&D. They always have cool toys.
If you don't mind, I will have one of my friend tag along with me. He is very interested in these stuff, too.
Thanks.

The more the merrier. I rather have a larger crowd and give my colleagues the feeling that it was worthwhile for them to come in on a Saturday morning.
So feel free to advertise the event.

Looks like I will bring another car buddy of mine with me, if you don't mind.
I can't wait to party in Chicago.
Oh, one question, can we bring camera?
Thanks again.
(you are right, it was a misspell).

Ah, I sure hope that was a misspelling.
Yes, bring a friend. The more the merrier. And nobody has mentioned anything to me about not taking any pictures, so by all means bring a camera.
