Central Texas Wildflower, BBQ, Autocross-Update
After hearing from several of you, here are the plans. We will have a weekend of events on March 31 and May 1. I know that some of you may not be able to make it on this date, but we hope that many of you will. Here is the schedule;
March 31- Meet at Pokey J's BBQ at the corner of Highway 620 and RR2222 between 10:30 and 11am. We will go north out Lime Creek Road, and continue on 1431 to Llano for the world's best BBQ. After lunch, we will head south on Hwy 16 to Willow City, and then east on 1332 to Johnson City, and then back to Austin. This will be the comfortable cruise part of the ride (where passengers can definately relax). I will also provide maps for additional hill country riding at more challenging speeds for later in the day or for the next morning for those interested.
We also are planning to get together for happy hour/dinner that evening and will inform everyone of the location later.
The next morning, you can continue with a drive in the hills, or join many of us at Ratama Park for an Autocross. We will need a head count for the Autocross so please e-mail "Chris_Soignier@Dell.com" if you are planning to attend.
Also, for those of you who may join us from out of town, some of the Austin owners have volunteered to provide "guest quarters" in their homes. We know that you will have driven the most of any of us, and want to make your trip as fun as possible.
Hope to see you there!

For those of you planning to attend the autocross event (like me), please surf on over to Spokes' website @ http://www.ccsi.com/~vitek/spokes/index.html. If you haven't tried this before, it's the best and safest way to learn your car's limits w/ limited risk. Due to the possibility of a significant increase over their normal turnout, it's also important that we try to make our presence go as smoothly as possible. Please consider pre-registering, and if not, let me know if you plan to participate and register in the morning.
Spokes is being very accommodating to us, and will even set up a separate class for our group if we'd like...or you can run in the existing classes. Let me know what your preference is.
Also, please direct any email related to this event to my personal email acct (csoignier@austin.rr.com), not my work email address.
This weekend is going to be a blast - hope lots of you TX guys and gals can make it!

Hey guys, one last thing regarding the Spokes event. If the S2K club wants to compete against each other rather than compete against all of A stock or Tire class or even Novice class, i'm pretty sure we'd be able to set up a class specifically for S2000 owners so that your club members can compare times against each other. It would be called an S2K class suited just for y'all.
If this is something you want, please let me know and i'll try to have it implemented so that you can preregister online for that class or sign up the day of the event into that category.
I would certainly like to know how many to expect for this event if at all possible.
Heck, if possible, i may even want to join y'all on your run the day before in my miata! (if y'all can keep up

And for those of you who might want an alternate drive, just meet us at the starting point. I'm sure that some may just want to rip the back roads, and others will want to make a day cruise. We'll have maps for both!

p.s. I'm in for the drives/events on Saturday as well as the autocross event on Sunday.
Count in another one from Houston. The wife and I think we can make it for the Saturday drive. This really has the potential of being a fantastic drive, it can be so beautiful at this time of the year. Most likely we'll come over on Friday and stay near UT. This will give us a chance to see a son that's living in Dobie this year. Incidentally, I'm glad this changed from March 24, since the only Houston NHRA event of the year is that weekend and I do not miss these events.
