Just bought me a set of these:

I will do the bulk of the work myself but take the open diff to a guy who will do the actual gear swap for a couple hundred bucks. I don't have the bearing press or the calibration gauges. Anyone with experience with this who might be able to give me any advice, helpful hints or cautions? Thanks.

Thanks! I think you're right. I've had experience before with gear sets and this is the safest bang for the buck of any performance mod that generates significant boosts in power and torque. Besides, I'm considering this as the consolation prize now that I'm not doing the S/C. (But I'm still watching the Vortech thing and also keeping an eye on what Comptech is about to do to catch up.)
ps. Ben (AJ Racing) has been a delight to deal with. He's a real busy guy but he responds in a timely fashion.

I'm happy that you're satisfied with his service! Yeah, the shop gets pretty crazy busy, but he always tries to find the time to deal with inquiries etc.

If you're going to pay some guy a few hundred bucks to just put the gears in, try getting the whole thing done for only a little more. I got quoted $300 by my Honda dealer to do the complete installation. It may be worth it to save you the hassle of getting to the diff.
