S2000 Drive Coming in NE Florida
The time is upon us for the FIRST weekend event of FIRST COAST S2K. We're looking at doing a drive, lunch, more driving, photo opps, "racing", dinner, etc. Maybe even a car show.
We don't have the exact date and schedule yet but we are shooting for Saturday, November 9th or 16th. Leaning hard towards the 16th but all of the votes aren't in.
MOST LIKELY THE SCHEDULE WILL BE SOMETHING LIKE THIS:
Those interested in Jacksonville will be headed to a car show to see one of our members compete. This is if we decide on the 16th. The show is at Duval Honda on Cassat Ave.
Those in Jax area that don't want to attend can meet up with us right after before we take some of the back roads down to the World Golf Village in St. Augustine. There we will be meeting up with a few other members at CaddyShack for lunch.
We'll hang out for an hour or so, pack it up and head south, more back roads in the St. Augustine general area. Picking up photo opps here and there. Eventually we'll make our way to A1A and head north to Jacksonville Beaches meeting at Adventure Landing on Beach Blvd. Here we will RACE. Yes, RACE. Go cart race that is not the s2ks. There's also minature golf, games, etc., etc. If anyone is up to it after that I'm sure a few will want dinner and drinks so we'll probably hang out at the beach. Some where cool like Moon Grill, Sneakers, etc.
If you're interested, let me know so I can send you the final agenda, etc. If so, it would be helpful if I had your e-mail address so I can include you in a broadcast e-mail to our members.
Hope to meet you soon.

Here's the first run at our Agenda, times, etc.
Most have voted by now and it looks like SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2002 is the date of choice. I know that doesn't work with everyone but it was strictly a "majority rules" decision.
All Jacksonville FCS2k'ers will meet at the Orange Park Dog Track between 11:00 and 11:30 a.m. We will leave promptly at 11:30 sharp PERIOD.
From the OP Dog Track we will take some of the backroads for some "country driving" in a leisurely pace to CaddyShack at the World Golf Village.
At the CaddyShack we will meet a few additional S2000's because of their close proximity to the World Golf Village. If you're meeting us there you need to be there NO LATER THAN 12:30 p.m.
At 12:30 p.m. I have a private room reserved just for us at CaddyShack. There is plenty of parking so we should be able to all park together. If you're meeting there, look for the other s2ks. If you beat the main convoy park where there's plenty of spots.
We will eat, take pics, and hang out at CaddyShack from approximately 12:30 till about 2:00 p.m.
Around 2:00 we will depart, once again taking some backroads in the area down towards Historic St. Augustine, etc. We may stop at certain points to take photos. I will have my camera and we have a new member that has some "serious" equipment (graphic designer) so we should get some really good pictures of everyone and the gang together. Bring your camera too though.
Eventually, we'll make our way to A1A and head north to the Jacksonville Beaches. Nice scenic cruise.
I would like to be at Adventure Landing no later than 4:00 p.m. Adventure Landing is located in Jacksonville Beach at 1944 Beach Blvd.
My thought at Advnture Landing is to spend about an hour or so. Main Event being a go cart race. They can race up to 15 cars at once so we should be good to go. Here's my question for the "majority."
To get any "group rates" we need a minimum of 15 people to show up. One, please bring your significant other, friend, etc. as a passenger for the day.
Two, if we were to have over 15 which is VERY likely based on responses so far, there are two options:
1) 3 attraction pass (go cart, laser tag, and minature golf) for $13.99/person, OR
2) 3 hours of Unlimited use of all 3 for $17.95/person.
Personally, I don't see spending 3 hours at Adventure Landing at that point nor have any interest in laser tag BUT MAJORITY RULES so please vote back so I can arrange the discounts. I think a quick run or two around the track at $5.99/race will do don't you?
After Adventure Landing I figure most people will be wanting to call it a day since we've now spent about 6 hours together. However, I'm sure there will be a few that want to grab dinner, drinks, etc. and can parade out to some place like Moon Grill or Sneakers. I think either place would be great. Sneakers would have more of the "cruising atmosphere" though.
Let me add this, for those of you who don't know where the O.P. dog track is, e-mail me so we can make arrangements to meet up sooner and cruise that way together. I know several of us live out towards the beach so maybe we can hook-up, picking up people in the Southside/Mandarin area on the way over.
I look forward to having everyone come out. Please remember to get another S2000 to join us. I ran into another one on the way into work this week. It's not hard you just have to do it. You gotta admit, the more of us there are, the more fun we're having!!!
Everyone have a wonderful weekend. If you haven't RSVP's please do but let me know if you're interested in one of the big group packages at Adventure Landing either way.
Be safe!
