I'm currently working on a custom turbo kit for my s2k. Just wanted yalls input on it. Manifold will be tubular, currently made from 16 gauge mild steal. will be using 304 stainless when I perfect the manifold. Tial wastegate and BOV. T3/T4 57 trim stage 5 turbo will be used for a more linear power band(Ball bearings spool up too fast, not good for high compression and RPM motors ), however will be in full boost before redline, unlike the SC's. Not sure how much boost will be used, I know it will be 6-8psi. Can't boost too much with high compression. I'll be using a stock exhaust with 2.5 in. downpipe, however a 2.5 inch pipe valve will be used before the cat. It will be controlled by a cable from the cockpit. All this are in the process of being custom make. I'll will post more as I work on my new project.

I have no experience with turbos, but why not just get the Speedcraft turbo kit that everyone's been raving about? It may be worth it in the long run to have a kit that's been fully tested and optimized, rather than trial and error on your own.

 

Where's the fun in that? Speedcraft Kits are too $$$... PLUS projects are fun

 

Projects are fun... but why are you using 2.5" down pipe instead of 3"? You don't want the extra power?

 

Where are you buying the turbo from? I found a t3/t4 60 trim for 625 or a 60-1 for 700. My roommate has the website from DSM tuners. When i find it i can post it up.

 

2.5 in down pipe are over rated for stock exhaust, Plus I'll have a pipe valve to release extra exhaust when I need to. 625 for the 60 trim is a real good deal, I don't have a dealer for turbo's yet, but I'm looking for one. [img]C:WINDOWSDesktopS2Kt.jpg[img]

Also, have you looked in to buying the Rev Hard manifold for our car? I haven't seen one or know where to get the pics. But it should have the standard garrett bolt pattern flange to bolt up to the flange on the garrett exhaust housing so whatever trim you use when you get that t3/t4 turbo should just bolt right up to the manifold. You might want to look at that before you spend money on trying to get one made. I think its around 575 for the manifold also.
