No, not my S2000, but my CBR600F4. I did a track day @ Texas Motorsport Ranch in Cresson. It rained all day yesterday and much of Sunday night, so the track was wet when we arrived this morning. The 1st session was a bit slick, but I wasn't sliding too bad...until going around a LH uphill corner (~45-50mph), the tires started sliding out from me. I tried saving it w/ my knee, but couldn't regain traction and had to let it go. I watched my F4 slide across the track (w/ me sliding right behind it), and then flip over on it's right side when it hit the mud off the track.

Amazingly, it held up pretty well. My new paint job could already use a respray, and the plastic has some small cracks in it - no big deal since its a racebike. I'm just glad it wasn't my R1 that I wrecked, that wouldn't have made me too happy. The windscreen was smashed up, but another racer there was cool enough to sell me his stock one for $20. 30 minutes of washing off mud, installing the new windscreen, and readjusting my tweaked steering damper mounting bracket, I was back in action for a wonderful day!

Oh yeah, I wasn't hurt at all (all that safety gear ROCKS!), though I did skin my knuckle a little while installing the windscreen. Wish I would have taken some pics immediately after pulling it out of the mud, but here are a couple post-repairs (#5-7):

Too bad you can't crash the S2k that cheaply! BTW, if you ever have the chance to drive @ TX MS Ranch, go for it - it's a great track, & I can't wait to try it w/ my S2K!

Randy, no ouch, it didn't hurt a bit. And Hayabusa-boy, I'd love to have the opportunity to ride circles around you and the HappyBus on a track. I don't even need my R1, a 600 will work just fine. But then again, I'm guessing that you know how to run your mouth a lot better than any piece of machinery!

maybe you should try 200+mph (although they (hayabusa's)don't do any more than 185mph) in the snow! go for it! end the torture!

I think any further posts by Hayabusa should be ignored, I think it's the quickest way to get rid of him. He must be a teenager or younger by his attitude and the way he talks. Anyone who rides bikes knows the Hayabusa is definitely not a race bike unless you're talking drag race.

Chris,
sorry to hear about you and your bike, hope all is well or at least fixable.

Chris, do you have much exerpience with the various bike schools out there? I've been thinking about Keith Code's http://www.superbikeschool.com/ which will be at MSR in June. (I have a fair bit of experience there with my cars, and the idea of taking the bike out is rather exciting. )

Elistan,

Yes, I've taken the Texas Sportbike School and Code's school, both @ TWS. TSS was less structured, but w/ more track time. Code had good instruction, but nothing that's not covered in Twist of the Wrist II. The real value was in the drills, especially the no-brake drill (SCARY!). But I thought Keith was pretty egotistical and not particularly friendly. My next school will be Jason Pridmore's STAR school 5/14-5/15...I've heard lots of great feedback about it.

I take it 00Hyabusa had his posts deleted? Good. I think he believes that he can wear his underpants on top of his clothes like some other 'ficticious' character!

I've been reading some of his other posts where he was talking/crapping about how he was planning on using a baseball bat on anybody who called him 'Rice' or something like that. Other's were saying that he should take anger management classes. He's probably a real wimp to have to make claims like that. Dare I say he probably gets picked on a lot at the school he still goes to! I feel sorry for him.

I bet he's so young that his feet can't even touch the ground on a Hyabusa!! Definite maturity problem here. Give a kid internet access - and always easy to create a persona from behind a computer screen.

Chris, I hope that you are ok. From one rider to another, I know what it is like to have to lay down a bike.

Never fun!

Good to see you completed the day though

Sime,

Thanks, it was really no big deal...absolutely painless, and only about 30 minutes/$20 to get it running as well as it was before. I guess I'll just live w/ the scratches and small cracks for now since it's a racebike (which means it's probably not the last time I'll crash it). I would have been pretty upset had I crashed my R1, though...can't go riding a crash-damaged bike on the streets looking like a squid!
