maintenance light (not how to reset)
anybody know if the maintenance light comes on and stays on at a certain mileage after the maintenance point (if the light is not reset)?
Had my 22,500 maintenance done and I noticed the light still came on when I started the car - dealer didn't reset it. I haven't gotten around to doing it myself and mileage is a little past 23K and the light came on while I was driving tonight.
I guess I'll find out if it's a problem or not when I reset it, but it would be nice to know if what happened is normal or not.

It come on at the standard maintenance interval (7K). I don't know if is the next time is 14k or 7k from the reset. Anyone know?
My standard maintenance interval for the light to come on was 5160 miles. I do believe that it comes on when you turn the ignition key on and stays briefly for a while, then stays on solid after that, if not reset.
Just reset it, it only takes a second.

However, to reset the maintenance light, hold the odometer reset button down, then turn the ignition key to the "on" position until the light stops flashing. You must continue to hold the reset button until the light stops flashing.
I know, I know, that's NOT what the "procedure" tells you to do, but it works on both of my hondas (my S2000 and my wife's Odyssey).
