Default 2002 S2K stolen in SF

Well, someone stole my silver 02 today from in front of my house in the marina. the car is only 10 wks old and it's the first time it's ever been parked outside overnight (we had a guest parked in our garage).

just a warning for those of you who still have your cars, be careful. meanwhile, i'll be back posting when i get my '03.

Sorry about the loss man. You think they towed it to steal it?

not sure, they had to have been pretty quiet as the car was parked 10 feet from my bedroom window.

Sorry to hear about this. I wonder if they knew how to bypass the Immobilizer system.

Sorry to hear about this. I'm posting because someone cut my rear window and broke into my MY 2000 on 15th Ave at lake st Tuesday night, very brazen, as the car was parked in the driveway, literally inches outside the garage door, and they were attempting to steal it, judging from the fact that the cover over the "computer" was off (to the left of the Driver side pedals) and connections to the it were taken off. Also popped my hood, and made off with my gps and cell phone- but didn't pop the trunk, where I had a digital camera and palm m505, as well as my briefcase with checkbbok etc. The front of the car was underneath the overhang of the living room, that's how brazen they were. I'm foolish, because 18 months ago I came out one morning and found the car on 4 jacks, with all four wheels and tires gone- but then it was parked on the street.
Will you replace it with another s2k?
Hope the insurance reimbursement goes well. Again, our symapthies!
Don

that's very strange that the circumstances are so similar and only 1 day apart, both silver/black s2ks. that's close enough that I'd call it a pattern. I hope they catch them and fry them to a crisp.

I will replace it with another S2k if i can figure out how i am going to pay for it. Thanks all for the sympathy, tough day for sure.

Boy, sorry to hear about all the incidents this week -- one stolen and one slashed top. just too sad. Hope you are able to find a replacement and the insurance will pay for it.

sorry to hear that, hope you can get a good settlement from the insurance company.

what kind of alarm you have? you didn't hear them start the car at all?

will mugen/spoon or other ECU disable the immoblilizer? they can sure get one and plug it in.

dang. Sorry for the loss and damages to your cars. Maybe when you parked them outside you should put on the spider, which is the british lock that they put on the wheels until you pay the fine...

Dang sorry to hear this news. Hope all goes well with the reimbursment. You know I parked my car outside for a night just a street into seacliff just off of 22nd and lake and I found the next day that my emblems (s2000 ones) were both taken. All I had left was the glue that had the imprint on the fenders. I hear that there's a master key out there that can bypass our immobilizers for our s2k's is this true?? Everytime I here stories like this it makes me wanna get that lowjack. Doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. Be careful everyone.
