Default Stick-n front number plate

While cleaning off two weeks' worth of road muck this morning, I have come to the belated conclusion the black plastic number plate mount of the front of the car is bloody ugly.

Does anyone else remember those stick-on front number plates used on E-types and the like? And does anyone know if and where they can still be obtained? I reckon my yellow S would look much improved with one.

In that case, I may have a source for this here on the island - a good friend of mine does vinyl lettering and graphics for most business vehicles on Arran. I'll try to get a price and ask about reflective material, which I know she has, that is probably a legal requirement.

Mark,

Don't go with stickers, go small without the surround,

Small is better as I keep telling my girlfriend

The small looks great... but our friends in blue up 'ere in the North don't like 'em very much, amongst other things - the traffic Police up here even have densitometers to check the tint people apply to their car windows...

... so it's gonna be a vinyl job methinks.

Anthony could I ask how you filled the holes where the old surround came off and is the new one just screwed to the bumper?

The big surround does look a bit ugly - but their is another way......

I tried the small number plate approach, although I could'nt remove the square bolts, so I tried this........

Removed surround and trimmed plate slightly.

Cheers
