2003 with 4,900 Miles
Looking for some advice. My wife and I bought our s2000 brand new in May of 2003. We have only driven the car for 4,900 miles. Every spring we bring it to our local Honda dealer and they do the oil change and just shake their heads due to the low mileage. Does anyone have any ideas of what we should try to sell this for? the car is beyond mint and has a silver exterior and red interior. Thanks so much for any advice

Depends on how quick you want to sell it.

Wow. First off, that's amazing to average only 500 miles per year of driving. I can relate somewhat, because I have averaged only 2k miles per year since I bought current S, and the dealership scratches their heads at me sometimes. I can't imagine driving 4 times less than I do now.
Due to the fact that this car is all original, and truly in "excellent condition" and beyond, in accordance to book value, this makes your vehicle extremely rare with that low of mileage. I personally would seek "top dollar" or "nothing", assuming your in a position where it doesn't matter if it sells any time soon, or at all. The right buyer might come along, with the idea of keeping the car true to what it is now, and saving it as a future collectible. I don't wanna throw a number at you on here, but I would look up "KBB Excellent Private Party Value", and add at least $2k, and take it from there. There's nothing wrong with seeking a high price, and just keeping your price firm, and playing the waiting game. If you haven't already, I strongly recommend you get the brake system flushed right away at the very least. Changing all the fluids is highly recommended if you plan on keeping this car so it remains in top running condition. Best of luck to you. |
probably only like $8k. ill take it off your hands if you are looking to sell quickly

That's the best year of S2000.

An s200 was brought to our attention in "Car Talk" I believe from the website bringatrailer.com. That s2000 was an original year early vin with only 9,xxx miles and the asking price was $19,900. Although your car is not the year of origin of the s2000, it is still an ap1 with even LESS mileage and the first year of the glass top and last year of 9k rpm. Hope this helps... :tipwink:
