Hello and Is 24999 a Fair Price on a Mint 2002?
Hi All,
Love the community so far. It’s been hugely helpful as I contemplate buying an S2000 for the first time. I found a mint condition, fully stock, all vins match 2002 for $24999 with 15,600 miles. It’s at a dealership that tends to sell more classic, high-end autos. Is this a fair price for a mint condition 2002 S2000? Thanks for any thoughts as I contemplate pulling the trigger.

Well, I'll just say this - one year ago I bought an 02 Sebring Silver with OEM Hardtop and 8.5K miles for 21K. It was a private sale. It was not perfect. It had a couple of very minor dings that I had fixed and while I was at it I had the front bumper resprayed to eliminate some typical chipping in lip area. That was about $850 total. Also, it needed new tires (still had oem tires) and a new battery. My sense then was that this was a reasonable price because it included the hardtop. It is is terrific car. Best automotive purchase I have made in years.

In my humble opinion, I think if you were looking for that specific example (a very low mile, original, AP1) then the price seems rather fair as a collectors item.
If you're just looking to get into an S2 and have ....lesser specific standards, you can certainly find a clean example of a AP1 for less than $25k.
Ultimately, a car is worth whatever someone wants to pay for it.

Price is high I think.
I purchased a 2002 Sebring Silver with 14,600 miles in March for $19,600 also from
a dealer. Car is mint and all stock except it was missing the tonneau cover.
