Hoping to join the s2k community
Ok guys, so I've been lurking around here for a while being mesmerized by your stories.
I now own a 1993 nissan 240sx, which i love love love dearly, but it's not becoming the best daily. Its set up for drifting so anyone that has owned a 240sx will tell you how much of a pain they can be. I figured a s2k is something i can have fun with while still being able to get me to school and work, and I also get to keep my RWD goodness.(oh, and just to clarify; this car will in no way whatsoever be used for drifting.)
I'm no Honda expert but I've worked on my car enough to not be completely ignorant with an engine. Will be keeping my 240sx as a fun little track car and daily the s2k. (and mainly because I can't get myself to sell my 240, bought her bone stock and have a lot of memories and can
t let her go
I've been in the market looking for a s2k. I've got my eyes set on a 2004, with 80k miles. clean carfax. Priced at 16,000. Going to try to talk down the price. I will be financing the car. Only downside is, that it has xxr wheels, which I would sell for oem wheels regardless.
Now I had a few questions: I am strictly looking for a ap2, since I keep seeing topics and stories about the AP1 engines going to hell at high revs. And too be honest I like the AP2 look a lot better. Now I looked at all the differences between the ap1 and the ap2, but the only thing i'm confused about is the difference between a 2004-2006 ap2 to the 2006-2009 ap2. If i've read correctly, i think only 2006+ have VSA. If that is the case, is the VSA worth the extra money. I am no professional at driving, but I think i can manage without it. And I have no need for the ECU tuning ability that comes with the 2006. Or is there anything about the 2006 is should consider.
Thanks in advance!
