So excited to return to the s2000 community after picking up this incredible MY2002 berlina black on red interior. You all helped me find the strength to pass on a seemingly clean, but rusty underneath white on red car a few weeks ago, and then this came along!! Check this thing out! I'm going to keep her mostly stock but will get a nice set of wheels and tires. I also bought a new head unit for CarPlay and the Modifry wiring kit. I was bummed that it didn't have headrest speakers, I thought those came in all of the cars but I guess my old 2003 must have had them as an option, so I picked up some new door sparkers as well since I read that is a better route to go then messing with the headrest speakers.
Thanks for calling that out! I guess the top is sitting up too high? I checked out the links in the thread you linked but the first one doesnt seem to have any information and the Modifry link doest work anymore. Hmm.. is this a DIY fix?
I just ordered some new straps from LHT Performance
LHT's are actually a refinement of the Modifry design. They should work well.
My problem is spent straps on a Robbins top -- different design and their straps cannot be used. I have a set of Modifry straps sitting around.
For now, you can do what I do: Unlock the top and put your right hand on the metal bar above your head. With your left hand, press the top open switch. Guide the bar toward the rear of car with your right hand as it retracts and it should fold up nicely. You know you got it right when you look at it sitting pretty in the top well!
Another quick note, the OEM tonneau cover will not fit properly if the top is not folded correctly. If you cannot snap the cover pins on, check your top straps.

So the cover actually does fit and snaps in place -- it was installed when I picked it up. But it seems like the straps need replacing anyways. I saw the DIY on how to make them but I don't mind spending the extra bit to not have to
