Looking to buy a S2k in New England - advice?

And if the car is really '06 or '07 (as indicated by the wheels) then it can't be Chicane Silver unless it's a repaint which drops it from top tier pricing. Chicane is called Moon Rock outside North America and is the darkest of the silvers with Sebring being the lightest and Silverstone in the middle.
i had the same thought regarding the wheels, likely sold off early on after being replaced by aftermarket units. Then replaced by these later on. But I would still want to know that the 2008 seats with the red stitching were still intact just to be sure nothing else unique to the final two year models and commonly stolen was missing.

Are you sure about this Chuck? Every photo that I have seen of Chicane Silver it appears to land somewhere between Sebring Silver and Silverstone. Definitely not darker than Silverstone as is the case with Moonrock.

I compared the red interior to photos online and they seem to match just fine.

Thanks for keeping me honest. Found the paint codes and Chicane Silver is not the exact color as Moonrock. Moonrock may be even darker than Chicane as it's parenthetically Grey, but, having seen Chicane in the flesh I can testify it's darker than my Silverstone which in turn is darker than Sebring Silver. Other markets got probably twice the colors we got in North America.
Back to the car. Other than the wheels or any hidden defects mechanical or otherwise I think you'll be happy with it. Finding the right wheels will be a quest of sorts but can be done. You'll find a ready market for your AP2V2 wheels when the time comes so the additional expense will be minimal and you'll be driving the car all this time.
Chicane Silver with Red interior is darn near unique with only about 150 cars imported. Don't lose it for a thousand or two (again assuming it's good to go).

Auction prices are all over the place and the scatter plot is highly distorted with older AP1 and earlier AP2 cars but the points are grouping above $20K on that site.

It is rare to find a bargain when purchasing from a dealer. But keep in mind that winning bidders on BAT have to pay an additional buyers fee (5% of the winning bid amount) and also any transportation costs on top of the winning bid amount. So a $20K car likely costs the buyer somewhere closer to $22K.
