Default My 1st Post

Greetings to all. I'm on my 2nd S2000 (an '08 MY). I liked my '06 so much that I bought this '08 after finding it on cargurus. This is my 1st post, so not entirely how sure this works. The car is red with a black top and I thought it would look better with black wheels -- so I had them powder coated. Since the center caps are not metal, they cannot be powder coated. And, since I didn't like the look of the black wheels and a silver center cap with a black "H" in the center, I decided to do a custom paint job on the center caps. This took a really long time and several layers, but I really like the way they came out. Everybody that sees them seems to like the way they look as well, so I thought I would share them here. They have been on the car for many years now and seem to be holding up well (though I should note that the car is not a daily driver). I should also mention that this was all done using spray paint from 'rattle' cans and various masks that I had cut at a local vinyl wrap shop (my hood is wrapped black). One other thing that I have just recently done it to replace the OEM stereo/CD player with just an amplifier. FM radio does not have much to offer (imo) and I don't like the new aftermarket head units. I stumbled on this place that makes an amplifier that you can control with your phone vis bluetooth (Ghost Box 2.0). This unit sounds great -- I thought I had blown a speaker, but apparently not after installing this unit. Now, the challenge with this arrangement is that you probably don't want to be fumbling with your phone trying to control the amp while driving. So, I found this handy little bluetooth controller on Amazon (

) and it is just about the right size to fit in the shift knob. It's shown it the picture below. It works really well giving you control over play/pause, volume, and goto (or back) one song. I think this arrangement works best if you have your player on shuffle, but that's just me.

Curious if you ever accidentally hit the buttons on the controller while shifting gears; I could see that happening to me. Neat mods nonetheless.
