New 2006 AP2 Owner! FINALLY! YAYE!
New to me 2006 Silver Stone AP2 with 39k miles! It was bone stock (besides for new battery). I am so excited and have already started to work on the car. My goal is to keep it stockish (rims, better tires, audio head unit, etc) and just enjoy it for what it is. I have a few other cars as well below.
I can finally say I am part of the S2k family!
Picking her up:
Mod 1: Clazzio red seat covers
Mod 2: OEM Front Lip
2011 E92 MT Track car:
Daily Driver: 2017 and 2015 Mazda 3 hatches (matching couple DDs)

I had to look twice to make sure there was a car in the first photo!
Leave the AP2V2 wheels on it and fit good tires. At least Max Peformance summer tires like the Bridgestone S-04 tires. No reason to not fit Extreme Performance summer tires other than the tread noise which is why I skipped them this time.
I'd concentrate on substance and performance rather than flash like aftermarket wheels. Since you got the DBW version you can get the car Gernby FlashPro tuned for a surprising increase in mid-range power and acceleration. Requires a high flow cat and benefits in sound with a little more exhaust note. Recommend the Berk 63.5mm high flow cat and the Tanabe Medalion Touring dual exhaust.
My '06 Silverstone was built in July 2006 and had 38K miles on her when she came home in July 2014. She's a twin of yours although the front spoiler is still in the box pending fixing all the stone chips on the front of the car.

I am planning to get a set of black RPF1s and RS-4s... I wanted to get Michelin 4S which I have on the M3 for the street (AD08 for track) but the 4S doesn't yet come in 17s I think.
Let me research the performance mods like you suggested. Next up is full fluid changes, spark plugs, brake rotors and pads.

What is it with 38-39k miles? I bought my 2006 last year with 38k and Chuck s bought his with 38k. I often see them for sale with 38-39k. I think owners are afraid that 40 is over the hill..lol.

Also curious
I was also curious about your purchase experience — how and where did you finally
find the right car for you? Really happy for you, congratulations once again!
By the way, how much lower does the front end of the car sit after you install the OEM lip?
