Cool New AP1 Owner in Seattle!

Hi everyone - I picked up my 2001 S2K in Sebring Silver a few days ago. 108k miles, relatively clean for it's mileage.

This car is a BLAST. So fun to drive.

I want to keep it OEM plus and clean looking, and here are my plans:
  • Ohlins DFSV coilovers
  • Sway bars (probably urge designs)
  • Either resurface existing wheels or pickup OEM AP2 wheels.... but I could be convinced to go aftermarket here (I love dark bronze contrasting with the silver)
  • Guardian Designs steering wheel - ORDERED
  • Qube Engineering LED gauge cluster - ORDERED
  • Qube Engineering LED dash controls - ORDERED
  • Robbins replacement soft top
  • RSG 2-piece rear hard top brackets - ORDERED
  • RSG 1-piece front hard top brackets - ORDERED
  • AP2 center console
  • passenger footwell cupholder - ORDERED
  • replacement S2000 side emblems - ORDERED
  • JDM red H emblems - ORDERED
  • Anti-gravity battery
  • OEM replacement windshield (current one has a ton of chips) - ORDERED

Some work I'm doing to freshen it up:
  • Full clay bar + DA polish and wax application
  • Metal polishing the HKS catback exhaust system (hopefully this brings it back to life, it looks pretty rough rn)
  • Plastic polish on the hard top lexan window (hoping I don't need to buy a new one)

If you think I'm missing something obvious, hit me up! I'm going to love driving this thing.

Behold

After cleaning and conditioning the leather it came out looking pretty nice

Took the HT off to prep for installing new brackets - thankfully the soft top is fully functional!

fully functional but it does look a little rough, hence why Im planning on buying a Robbins top at some point.

Welcome and good looking car. I do wish I had a hard top that came with mine.

Looks great! 2001 or 2002? 2001 had the big plastic rear window, 2002 got the small glass rear window with the defroster so if it's really a 2001 the roof has been replaced already. Parked roof up in the sun on a hot day or two should get rid of the wrinkles.

ahhh, it is definitely a 2001, good to know that the roof has been replaced at some point. Hopefully we have a hot day soon, those aren’t common here in Seattle haha
