Default New AP1 owner from Wisconsin

Hey everyone, my name is Nick and im from the Milwaukee area. I purchased a S2000 on April 27th of this year, its a 2002 model. It had been neglected for some time before I rescued the car. Previous owner had an accident and let the car sit for some time before it was posted for sale. Seeing the car for the first time my initial reaction is "this thing is rough'', but I had to have it in my life. So after a short while we agreed on a price and it was shortly loaded onto my Uhaul and driven 3.5 hours home. Waking up and seeing this in my driveway was a really great feeling, finally a "cool" project car for me! The work began by checking the mechanicals which were surprisingly well kept despite the looks. After about a week passed the Koni's and Swift springs somehow became installed and new wheels ordered. After that the slippery slope of bodywork began. Small rust repair on the quarter panel, and the damaged rocker panel repair began. Bodywork took about 40 days working on the weekends and a few afternoons after work. Having a background in this makes the process go a little quicker, but also slower due to taking the time on the details. I was never a fan of the Suzuka Blue color personally, so a color change was in order. After creeping the forums I knew a factory color was needed, and there were a few options. I choose Grand Prix White as my color. So primer, paint and clear were ordered and the long process of priming and blocking began. Another 3 weeks goes by and I finally have a car that is painted! Still not sanded or polished but at least it has color on it! Just in time for a shoulder surgery so at least now I have a pretty S2K to look at in my garage. Hope the photos work as in new to this forum. Let me know what you guys think about it, Im hoping to learn a lot here!

on the way home

Thanks, the blue interior is growing on me. The car was originally Suzuka so the blue is original to the car. I’d personally love to go with the red and black interior eventually. Time will tell what happens with the interior colors! Need to work on some alignment issues when I’m a little more recovered from surgery.
