Smile New to Hondas! 1999 JDM S2000 (RI)

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, I just picked up this 1999 S2000 (Fresh off the boat!) a couple of weeks ago, imported by Blacked Out Motorsports. I've wanted an s2000 around the same time I got my STi, which was about 7 years ago, so I'm excited that I finally own one!!

The S has an aftermarket radio, 20% window tint + 43% tinted windshield, and big plans! Besides that, the S is currently completely stock, I have plans for doing maintenance (TCT + Valve Retainer- Ap2), picked up a dual q300 (still deciding if I want to do hfc or test pipe with fix), debating on putting my steering wheel I saved from my Miata after I sold it (nrg), so now I'm searching for a decent wheel/suspension set up and also a roll bar most likely. Any suggestions/pics of your setup would be helpful!

My experience so far of owning this car, as of June 30th, which I brought to Honda Fest (my first time going), is that it's the perfect size for me and I'm absolutely in love with it already! The Miata I had was a fun size, but I didn't feel quite safe in it.. being a small person myself in a tiny car, made me worry a lot driving next to larger trucks or semis. I have experience doing autocross, so my main concern lies in other drivers' abilities to pay attention to the road/not checking their blind spots/not even bother looking to see if there's a car near them before changing lanes/texting while driving (happens way too often in RI unfortunately). I haven't decided if I wanted to use this car for just fun summer driving, or tracking or drifting.. we'll see where the wind takes me! The most common question I get asked is if it's converted, and for the 50th+ time, the answer is nope! Also, this isn't the first RHD car that I've driven so I'm used to it.. for the most part.. I do have the tendency while driving in a LHD car to switch up the wiper indicators with the blinkers (since they're on opposite sides of the wheel column, haha!). I love meeting fellow s2000 and auto enthusiasts, so feel free to meet up at Mollys2k's

Okay I'll bite...if you're in the US, how did you get an younger than 25 y/o car imported?

+1, everything I've read regarding this has told me its not possible, unless under the show/display exception of which the S2000 does not qualify.

Just tried to visit their website and the "information" section, specifically about the "process" and "Title, Reg, Ins" section isn't populated or isn't working.

This seems rather shady.....

What's the VIN? Just curious. This should be a 2000 model. Maybe made in 1999 though.

This car needs those 16" JDM BBS wheels then stop with the mods. Don't hack it up. But that's just me.

Nice job with the import.

You may have been looking at a website that wasn't authorized by the company.

They're definitely not shady, but thanks for your concern!

This one is definitely a 99 since it was imported from Japan.
