Hi everyone! My name is Sarah, I just picked up this 1999 S2000 (Fresh off the boat!) a couple of weeks ago, imported by Blacked Out Motorsports. I've wanted an s2000 around the same time I got my STi, which was about 7 years ago, so I'm excited that I finally own one!!
The S has an aftermarket radio, 20% window tint + 43% tinted windshield, and big plans! Besides that, the S is currently completely stock, I have plans for doing maintenance (TCT + Valve Retainer- Ap2), picked up a dual q300 (still deciding if I want to do hfc or test pipe with fix), debating on putting my steering wheel I saved from my Miata after I sold it (nrg), so now I'm searching for a decent wheel/suspension set up and also a roll bar most likely. Any suggestions/pics of your setup would be helpful!
My experience so far of owning this car, as of June 30th, which I brought to Honda Fest (my first time going), is that it's the perfect size for me and I'm absolutely in love with it already! The Miata I had was a fun size, but I didn't feel quite safe in it.. being a small person myself in a tiny car, made me worry a lot driving next to larger trucks or semis. I have experience doing autocross, so my main concern lies in other drivers' abilities to pay attention to the road/not checking their blind spots/not even bother looking to see if there's a car near them before changing lanes/texting while driving (happens way too often in RI unfortunately). I haven't decided if I wanted to use this car for just fun summer driving, or tracking or drifting.. we'll see where the wind takes me! The most common question I get asked is if it's converted, and for the 50th+ time, the answer is nope! Also, this isn't the first RHD car that I've driven so I'm used to it.. for the most part.. I do have the tendency while driving in a LHD car to switch up the wiper indicators with the blinkers (since they're on opposite sides of the wheel column, haha!).
