Amuse R1 bumper brake cooling
Any R1 bumper owners out there track their cars?
I bought this bumper because of its near stock looks and the ability to run hoses.
Last time I went to the track I boiled my fluid so badly that it was leaking out of the bleeder valves on my Spoon calipers. I tried to tighten them to stop the leaking and eventually stripped them.
I'd like to have all the air going into the brake ducts going into the hose, but if it comes down to it I'll just tie the hose somewhere behind the ducts.
thanks
chris

Sorry I can't help you, but this is the sole reason why I would choose the J's Racing Bumper over all others. It's a true track ready bumper. Replaceble under panel, can be run with 1, 2 or no Canards, has brake ducts, Aero efficiency, intake scoop and added cooling capabilites. I like the cleaness of the Amuse bumper more, but it doesn't give me the versatility of the J's for a tracked car.

I'm sure J's aero is functional but it's my daily driver as well, that bumper is just too agressive looking.
bump.

Its the brake fluid and pad type if your experiencing brake fade. I have used BBK and OEM brakes extensively at the track with out any ducting and experience no fade what so ever.

I hope no one minds me bumping this old thread. I have the same issue w/ very minor brake fluid leaking from one of the Spoon bleeder valves (drivers side closest to the outside) during track sessions. I made sure to torque the bleeders to Spoon specs & it is not stripped. I was just wondering if adding teflon tape to the bleeder valve is the best solution? Will teflon tape handle the heat? Is this a common issue w/ Spoon calipers? Thanks!
