Default ASM wide fenders

IS it not possible to use the stock fender gaurds when installing the asm wide fenders? I want to get asm style fenders, but do not want to increase road noise by removing the gaurds.

or is it necessary to purchase the asm fender optional bracket set? does that make it so you can reuse the gaurds?

thankx in advance.

You can run the fender liners in the ASM wide fenders without the optional bracket set but you be missing about 4 tabs so its best to just get it

^ the asm fender bracket is not plasitc...i believe it is FRP hence, having them on may be may be useless.

I'm running mine without the fender liner bracket.

so the factory fender liner is still in place minus the gap created by the extension of the fender? if so any increase in road noise from this?

From what I have heard that piece is actually not a part that is sold. It was a one off piece that they made for a customer in Japan.

Hey Brian,

that is incorrect. I received confirmation that this particular piece is available.

Sounds good big balla. I stand corrected. From the way these are designed though it seems useless as it would jsut make the inside lip of the fender super big therefore eliminating any gain by going wider. Just my .02

Just drive down to Autobacs and check it out in person for yourself. They have their ASM S2000 parked in front and it's only 40 minutes from LA
I personally wouldn't run the ASM wide fenders without the optional fender liner bracket because I like things to look neat and clean
