Yea, changing oil does help, but it's not a dramatic change. I change the fluid every 2nd track day.

Like I said, the noise is only at very low speeds and mostly while turning or reversing. For example, turning into a parking spot at the mall or reversing out of the spot. I don't hear it on the track or highway.

If you turn a corner at about 15 miles/hr you'll hear it.

It's not so much that it makes noise, but the type of noise it makes. The "thunking" sounds like something is wrong with the car.

I'm not saying don't buy one. I love it!! Worth every penny for track use! But for normal street driving I don't think it's worth the $$$ and some people might like like hearing the noise from it all the time.

I run the 1.5Way Carbon and I love it. Only drawback is fluid changes every 2000 miles, but thats just a given. Otherwise its great. Once you go to solid mounts its very noisy and you can feel it but its the price you have to pay. I say go for it if you are looking for a great LSD.

For those of you who have this LSD, did you do the recomended break in excercises?? According to the site it should only make noise if the lsd was not broken in properly. Just curious if the site claims were true Also can someone explain to me solid hard diff mounts make the lsd sound louder??

The carbon LSD suppose to be quiet, atleast all the one that we have installed. The sound also depends which kind of LSD oil that you will be used with it. Some Special oil will reduce the sound to minimal.

Just to let you guys know there are some issues with the ATS Carbon LSD http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/Damn...SD-t13773.html

Cory, did you break it in properly?

I want to ride in your car - there is a possibility my diff is bad. Probably something else in all likelihood though . . .

I'm not using the ATS oil. I think it was Motul PA90 last time.... can't remember now...

I do have it changed regularly though, every 2000KMs or so.

What do you recommend for noise reduction?

Can one use synthetic diff oil with the ATS? If so, I'd look into upgrading to gear 300 or maybe even gear FF.

I would strongly suggest using Motul Gear FF over PA90 and Gear 300.
