Ben, questions regarding Varis Aero...

Ben,

I was curious to know a few things regarding the new Varis line... Are there any pics of the fenders without the carbon cover? how much wider are the fenders?
how close are the vents on the pass. side of their hood to the header/exhaust mani? are their carbon products FRP skeleton, or all carbon? Thanks!

that kit is hot!

I'd be interested to see it in person... Personally, I'm not looking at the full kit, I just ordered some new aero, but I am still trying to decide on a new hood and fenders to replace my flared ones...

New hood is simple. Go with the new prototype Cwest DC hood. Fenders just slap on OEM unless your going to use very aggressive +30s offsets with a BBK.

well, I bought a different hood, but didn't drop 3k on it... I'm waiting to see how much all this engine work and whatnot is going to run me in the end... it's over 5 figures right now, so we'll see... as for the fenders, I run a +34 up front with pulled and rolled fenders... I was just looking for something that was purpose built rather than modified...

The Varis fenders are 15mm wider than stock. A lot of people in these threads forget about big brake kits. When running a BBK major sacrifices are often made with front wheel fitments beause of the low offset requires by the calipers. Using wider front fenders by VARIS or ASM reduce the compromise and allow a more proper sized rim that can also offer proper caliper clearance.

If you dont have a BBK, you can run a 9.5" wide front rim on the VARIS fenders and a 10" wide rim with the ASM fenders. (15mm wider vs 25mm wider comparing VARIS to ASM). Those widths are only if you have the flexibility of a custom built rim. We deal with quite a few wheels that have that capability. I dont want to derail this thread into a wheel fitment thread though, so if you have questions about this particular topic, it'd be best to ask it elsewhere.

I forgot to answer the other questions.

Some Varis products are full carbon, others are FRP skeleton. The carbon version of the fenders are full carbon (wet carbon production). I have a set of the carbon fenders coming in sometime within the next 30 days most likely. I'll try to snap some photos of them when they arrive.

THere are currently no photos of the fenders without the covers.

ALthough with that being said, I purposely took a photo at Auto Salon that showed inside the cover so that you can see what the shape of the actual fender looks like. (very nice design, IMO)

And regarding the C-West dry carbon hoods...C-West has excellent research and design, but the quality of their dry carbon products is not the best. Dont get me wrong, it's not bad...but after seeing a lot of their dry carbon next to other companies dry carbon, C-West is not the one I'd recommend. Thats if you're comparing production quality of dry carbon hoods.

Both the Amuse and the ASM dry carbon hoods are much nicer quality of construction.
