Cusco 5 point install help
 

I've recently received my 5 point cusco bar from Bulletproof. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on possible problems that might arise while installing this. Any help from the guys that have done this would be greatly appreciated. TIA

this is what I've gathered from watching Spiders2k who was very skilled:


1. Remove seats, rear flat panel, carpet (not completely, just enough where you can see the floor where the cage will be mounted).

2. The front part is pretty straight forward, line them up per instructions provided by Cusco which aligns to the edges on the chassis. Mark with sharpies and drill.

3. Loosely mount the front part. Note that the reinforcement plates must go in the bottom of the car so that the chassis is sandwiched. The instructions provided by Cusco said that this is the only race sanctioned way.

4. Jack up the car, put the car on jackstands, remove rear wheels, use 8mm sockets and unbolt the gas tank inlet and a 12mm to loosen the assembly. Make sure to put the gas cap back on after its out of the way.

5. The bottom reinforcement plates only sits flush in 1 position since it's molded to the way the chassis bends. Drilling from the bottom is much easier than trying to drill from the top. After all the drill all you have to do is bolt them up.

6. Use a hole saw to cut the rear panel to fit the cage. Viola.
