Default J's intake question...

The next intake i purchase will be the j's...

what im wondering is:

1. do you have to relocate the air control solenoid like i had to do with my comptech?

if so...

2. does the j's intake come with the hoses/what not to relocate this, or do i buy seperate?

3. do you have to cut/trim the stock hood to make it fit like the Mugen intake requires?

Im just trying to see if im on the right page with this...I would hate to get it and then run into some minor BS...

Yes, unless you want to just let it dangle about and possibly break or something. I have mine bolted to the cross member brace with a self taping screw.

2. does the j's intake come with the hoses/what not to relocate this, or do i buy seperate?
Sorry, I bought mine used back in mid 03 from Ardy. I used the vacuum lines from when I had an AEM V1 intake.

3. do you have to cut/trim the stock hood to make it fit like the Mugen intake requires?
Yes, see below image. If you are already cut for a Mugen Intake, you don't ened to cut anyting else, the Mugen is larger then the J's Snorkel.

Yes yes and yes. It is an easy install as long as you are comfortable chopping up your hood.

im at school now, so i can't check my comp for the amuse website. i think they show it on there...

as for re routing the solenoid, ill just download the comptech instructions and do it that way again...

thanks for the replies...

The mugn intake comes with dimensions for a "template" to cut out on the stock hood. J's racng you'll just have to eyeball and mask with tape.

I want to get this intake but I'm not too keen on the idea of cutting my hood.

I want this intake, but I don't want to cut my hood either. I'm thinking of picking up a carbon hood already with the hump.

can you guys tell me what my choices are?
