I'm running with the stock heatshield on, just in case. I do, after all, live in the little brother of california (NJ) and it is strict over here.
So you use the stock heatshield to make it look like you have the OEM CAT? You might pass a cursory inspection, but you'll fail a thorough inspection, to include smog check.

I don't think I am going to have my heatshield put back on.

I don't think a cop on the side of the road is going to do a thorough check . I highly doubt they would even do a visual check at all but I have the heatshield there just in case.

If I didn't tell you it was a testpipe, you would never know the cat was taken out...its VERY convincing

I also don't plan on running catless through the emissions inspection. I'll eithor brib the guy or just change out my testpipe for my cat temporarly

That's a 63mm test pipe...I have T1r 70mm exhaust and the test pipe does not have the bracket. But i was still able to put stock cat heat shield around the t1r 70mm testpipe.
how did you mount the heatshield? Does it rattle at all since the test pipe did not come with brackets for mounting?

I contemplated getting that pipe, but couldn't justify spending over $500 for something I won't be using for very long.
I know what you mean, it took me a while to convince myself for it. I only used it on the track so it was used for limited times/yr. Well, Ben hooked me w/ a killa deal and I couldn't resist. It's always a pleasure to deal with BP.

Bulletproof is a great company. Top-notch customer service. It's too bad it takes so long to receive products from Japan; not that it is BP's fault.

I can only wish the interval time was shorter.
