besides the race motor in the actual js cars does anyone know hp and tq gains from the js kit alone? and if so what does the prospect of itbs sound to everyone? i know js doesnt make itbs and that they would increase performance for sure. just a thought as my performance plans involve a js stroker cpu and itbs.

thanks everyone. NA FTW!

Both the Tracy Sports and ASM kits require a Motec (aka $5000+) ECU.

the head and valve springs have nothing to do with why the F20C has a higher rev limit than the F22C. (I say nothing because it is very secondary when comparing it to the main factor . . .)

it is Bore and Stroke

F20C = 87mmx84mm 11.7 compression
(1997cc) - (oversquare)

F22C = 87mmx90.7mm with lower 11.1 compression
(2156cc) - (undersquare, slightly)

higher stroke equals more rotational mass, equals more torque, more displacement, and less revs.

the greatest engine internals I have ever seen, or heard of is what is offered by K-Tech engine service.

they offer a very expensive setup, or entire engine block basically:

K-Tech 215-SSI

88mmx88mm bore and stroke

11.8 compression

a perfectly square BxS ratio like this results in and extremely smooth reving engine that is able to increase power, torque, as well as being able to easily rev to 9000rpm, in fact, I believe K-Tech rated this setup to be capable of 14,000 rpm

this is also the beauty of Honda's K20 engines, great overal BxS ratio, and is also what is great about Spoon's F20C/K20 hybrid in there early FD 2 CTR concept.

would be interesting to see the bore and stroke of all of these different upgrades.

also, just as a side note, the reason F1 engines are able to rev to 19,000 and beyond is due to, amongst many other things, a particularly high bore to stroke ratio.

too me, an oversquare or perfectly square engine makes the most sense to me, it is pretty damn hard to argue against F1 engineers.

someone let me know if I am full of

It have becomed a good thread this one.
Now im wating for my kit
Trying to collect some money to a EMS, but money is hard to find.
why not just have J's do an ECU for you? let them do the tuning for you, as I am sure they know there kit better than anyone else.

J's Racing actually recomends an EMS for overseas customers here that would like a full engine, or the stroker kit. They can do an ECU tune (oem ecu) to meet their kits specs, but it will be tuned on Japan fuels, and will still require some minor tweeking of fuel presures to get it right.

The 2.2kit can be had in many variations of compression as well.

he has an 06 with the F20C engine and DBW.. so basically if he installs the 2.2L stroker kit wouldnt the OEM F22C ECU work well with the kit?
(toda offers a kit with the exact same displacement as the USDM F22C engine)

ofcourse there r some minor differences with EDM 06 cars and the USDM 06.. like the type of fuel in europe, foglight button, and not having cruise control.. i assume maybe those things would have an effect?

so is this a (87mmx90.7mm) kit?

plus...
has any Californian actually gone the stroker path --- wouldn't you have to rebuild your stock motor every two years?
