I also have the 70rr and it's a great exhaust, you definitly feel that vtec pulls alot harder!

I also noticed the exhaust started to "pop" while letting off the throttle around 3700 rpm's and i've heared some occasional harder "pops" when shifting at redline, looks like the car was running richer after some while?

you guys saying no tuning obviously havent checked your air/fuels.

i had the 70RR on my ap1 with no other mods whatsoever and i had like 15:1 air/fuel ratios and it wasnt nearly as smooth as it was after the tune

my ap2 was even worse. My ap2 has the 70RR and a J's Header as well.
Was like 17:1 air/fuel in VTEC

if that is safe to you, than your stupid

a tune is most definitely required; most haven't checked their A/F; those who have and claim they are safe are most likely checking them on a non-load bearing dyno like a dyno-jet which doesn't accurately simulate the load on the street

with a dynapack, you can hold 4000, 5000, 6000 RPM etc at WOT, and it is usually with this type of dyno that you will see a lean condition; i believe mustang dynos are also load bearing..

and to those who say the car is driving great? well when you are lean, you are actually making more power, so this is where the 'great' feeling comes from..one batch of regular gas and prolonged WOT operation around (let's say 4000 rpm and upward, hitting vtec), and BOOM you have detonation

the knock sensor does it's best to minimize detonation, but detonation must occur first before the knock sensor does its job and tells the ECU to pull timing
