Mugen hood owners
How's the fitment? Does it sit flush like oem? Any problems during/after installation?
|
The fitment is excellent. I had it on my car (Carbon Version) and fit just like OEM. I did have to play with the hood latch a little bit but it wasn't a big deal.
Go for the carbon, you won't regret it. ;) |
I want the frp hood so I can paint it bb to match my car. I would purchase the cf hood if I were to come across an awesome deal. What kind of problems did you have with the latch? Alignment?
|
The hood was slightly raised so it did not it flush with my front bumper.
I had the same issue with my ASM FRP hood as well. |
I wonder if that's a common problem. Also you owned the cf version, would the frp have the same issues?
|
Well I wouldn't consider it a problem. It just needs some minor adjustment for it to fit properly.
Same goes for an aftermarket front bumper, it will need some minor adjustments for it to fit. |
I could deal with that. Are there any markings or stamps that show authenticity? I read the front splitter doesn't have any.
|
The hood does not have any markings to show authenticity. The FRP hoods are all primered in white so this usually is a good sign the hood is genuine.
With the CF version there is a noticeable difference between the real and fake hood. |
Thanks for the heads up.

I have owned two mugen carbon hoods. And they both fit perfectly. There is simply no hood that fits as well as the carbon asm and mugen hoods
