I'm not saying they're not expensive but they are well worth it. Just like you said the cost might not be much to some people, Garage Defend doesn't see them as just two small pieces of carbon fiber. If they were a mass/cheaply produced item they would be cheaper but they are pretty rare, and were developed and produced by a fairly small company.
Will put my order in,just in time to get them as a Christmas gift.Wish my GF would read this.!

Can't help I was born with champagne taste... 
On a side note, there will not be a copy as there is not enough demand... while these are really nice IMHO, for 800 you are on your way to a full front bumper... Most would opt for the front over these... I have a set of authentic Feel's canards I bought from s2000europe a while back... they retail for about 600 or so, and noone would pay a quarter the price for em, so I just kept them... same thing with these...
