Japanese does have a higher compression then US spec. It was something like 12.1.1 or was it 11.7.1??? Anyone want 100 octane?

F20C JDM engines are 11.7:1 compression, US spec F20C and F22C1 cars have 11:1 I believe. I don't know if that changed when Japan started using the F22C1 in 2006 though, I think it might have been decreased to 11:1 as well.

My understanding the ecu has a map to compensate for the better octane. EU just uses a different rating system, but they do just like US/Can have high octane available at some retailers.

The US and EU S2000 both have 237bhp (240PS)

The EU only has the AP1 with the F20C, but the suspension changes did carry over in-line with the US and Japan.

The JDM S2000 has 250PS (247bhp) thanks to it's higher 11.7:1 C/R (11:1 for US and EU)

Our 97RON is equivalent to your 93 Octane.

We can get 99RON (95 Ocatne) throughout most of Western Europe.

There are even a few stations in the UK that put out 102 RON - that is beyond what the Japanese have.

Please do bear in mind that we pay $8 a gallon for our normal 95RON fuel.

Super Unleaded (High Octane) is closer $9 and that is with our dire exchange rate between

I'm quite happy with the aggressive setup of the original AP1.

And my JDM Spec F20C

I will tell you this though - there is ZERO noticeable difference between my car and my friends S2000. Both of us own MY2000 JDM AP1s, except he has a UKDM F20C with the 11:1 C/R.

Zero difference all the way up to 140.

Seriously - don't bother with the JDM engine.

You will notice no difference
