Why not TypeOne in US?

Anyone know why Ichishima wouldn't consider opening a TypeOne garage in the US?

I've been obsessing over TypeOne's blog regarding their restoration of S's, and other Hondas. Seriously, is there anyone in the U.S. performing these services, at this level of detail?

With NSX, S2000, RSXs, Civic, etc, seems like plenty of cars that a TypeOne in US (probably West Coast) could do well.

Why do t you email them and ask then post if they respond? Any of us would just be guessing as to why they do t have operations here in the US.

If you look at the massive replica crap in the market, you will know why. Too many cheap people who won't justify paying the premium.

I agree with you here as well. Not enough people caring to throw that kind of money down.

Sorry for noob question.

What does Type One do? I know they are part of Spoon. I like looking at the pictures but are they just redoing the cars or installing parts or what?

Type one is just like a specialized service station.

They socialize in tuning, and fixing Honda's as well as other vehicles. But when you take your vehicle to a specialist shop, and not just some random place. you need to pay a premium for their craft, which it appears in the U.S. is not easy.

Spoon, HKS, Super Autobacs all use to be in the US but pulled out about seven years ago. due to the weak market for quality as the market for replica parts boomed.

seibon, vis, and shine took all the business.
