what is difference between stock USDM ECU and JDM ECU??

tenblade2001 09-10-2003 05:19 AM

topfuel, the one that sold for 280 was a scam artist. It was supposed to go to Marcus 3ing3r. The going rate for the ECU is about 200 bucks....I almost had one from a place in NY.
I am interested and sent you a PM. Also, folks should know that this is not a plug-n-play mod. You have to go to the dealer and have them reprogram it so it will work with your car.....that's the big expense in the project. I am having this done at Ganley Honda at the cost is about 750-800 total. So your going to need about another 300-400 to reprpgram.

as Red_Ohio_Rocket asked, what is the difference between US and JDM ECUs that makes them desirable?

I don't know why he put JDM. If he bought the car stateside, its USDM. The ECUs on the 02 and up are mapped more aggressively than the 00-01 ECU. Thats why people like me, with moded 01 can still get pulled on by a stock 02. They usually put down about 3-5 more in torque and 10 more hp.

sounds worth it to me... thanks for the clarification.
