I have been interested in the "re-trimmed" steering wheels (thicker grip). There are a number of them being sold online in the 400-1000$ range. Most of the sellers are either on the west coast or intentional. It seems like a lot of money to spend if I can't try it out first. I was wondering if any of you in the NOVA area have one installed. I would like to see if I can convince someone to meet me locally so I can see how they actually look like installed.

Can you tell me what you use to make them bigger? And does carbon fiber get hot in the sun? I'm moving back to Phoenix, and a hot steering wheel can be a problem.
